I cannot spellcheck in the new outlook 20231215008.08 . The editor is greyed out in the edit options. I have edge as my default browser and the MS editor ext in edge. Keep in mind I am talking about the New Outlook APP, but I am unsure if it feeds off od edge settings for the app.

I have the same problem. Editor is greyed in the new outlook. Will not spell check anything. It is available in outlook web. It is also available when I revert back to the old outlook version.

I followed the recommendations from Microsoft, among other things, empty the Outlook cache, without any success.

    The #4 line, stating :

"4. Then you can go back New Outlook and reopen the app to check if working fine or not. If still greyed out, please also go to Outlook on the web and perform following steps:

    • Using the menu list, select Editor > Editor Settings.."

No, it is not working, still greyed out.

Hoping for an update from Microsoft, soon.

    Hello Thomas Heffernan,

Good day! Thank for your reply and sharing more useful information!

For my suggestion, please try all of my workaround step by step to fix your issue. If this case still persists, you may have to contact New Outlook for Windows Support Team via clicking Help>Contact Support or Contact support and provide feedback within the new Outlook for Windows. Please do not mind that we could not provide further assistance because need to check from backend side and we appreciate your efforts in this case. The support team over there has higher permission than us, they can remotely help you and collect logs at your convenience. They can also involve more resources to investigate the issue from backend side.

Again, your understanding and patience will be appreciated.

    Thank you!
