Looking for "all mailboxes" in new outlook interface

I have started using the new Outlook desktop interface. In the older version I was able to enter this search term: Folder:inbox and select all mailboxes and it would display all my inboxes from different email accounts. I cannot find the equivalent in the new interface. Does it exist? How can I look at the inbox of all my accounts without having to do them one at a time?

Just adding my name to the list of frustrated users of the New Outlook.

I have six email accounts in my Outlook, one personal, and five business related (from 3 different businesses.)

At two or three times a day I need to search through more than one mailbox at the same time. In the old Outlook this was a one-step process. Now I have to search a mailbox, switch to another account, search that mailbox, etc.

Perhaps time is totally unrelated to money for Microsoft programmers. But I am now spending two, three or four times as much time doing searches in the New Outlook. That takes time away from other aspects of running my businesses. Bottom line is the New Outlook is costing me money (by taking me away from other business related activities.) And as if that is not bad enough, there are advertisements at the topt of my outlook inboxes....and Microsoft tells me I can pay to make Outlook ad-free. Adding insult to injury.

I saw a response from Microsoft saying that a combined search function is being worked on, and that will be a great thing. But I have no idea whether that will be out in a week, a month, or sometime next year.

If Microsoft truly cared about the needs of its customers they would release something we could use NOW, perhaps a workaround, or an add-on, or a Macro, that enables the users to do a multiple search. It does us no good NOW to know you are working on something for eventual release.

    This is amazing!

"For your concerned issue regarding "All Mailboxes" option in New Outlook, unfortunately it is unavailable in New Outlook. It is a by-design behavior."

i.e. we have deliberately gone out to make our product ****!

    Hello David Greenhaw,

    Greetings!

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community!

For your concerned issue regarding "All Mailboxes" option in New Outlook, unfortunately it is unavailable in New Outlook. It is a by-design behavior. We'd suggest you to toggle off the "Try the new Outlook" button in New Outlook and swith to the classic Outlook as the New Outlook is a beta version and it is basically a web-based application. The look and feel come close to the Outlook Online version some features are still missing.

Appreciate your patience and understanding and thank you for your time and cooperation.

Wish you great success, good luck and much happiness in the future!

Why would you take away functionality as important as this in the new version of Outlook?

This doesn't make any sense. I'm trying to use the New Outlook even with its glitches, but the decision to eliminate the "all mailboxes" search functionality makes absolutely no sense to me. This is something I use daily and is essential to the work I do. And your response to the inquiry is to "switch to the classic version?" That's the best you have?

    Disappointed,
    Darren

Microsoft AS ALWAYS focuses on the WRONG priorities... Simple features such as ALL INBOXES or adding shared mailboxes in favourites is too much to ask ...

The Outlook Team is tracking Unified Inbox as a feature request for future consideration. It's a commonly requested feature but the team has other priority work in front of it currently. The new and upcoming features are posted here, https://aka.ms/newOutlookComingSoon.  If you want to give direct feedback, click Help, Feedback, Make a suggestion.

other priority work? Are you serious? Those people who decide to kill the most important and necessary functions for people - why do they still work for the company? Why do you waste time on incomprehensible "priority" tasks if no one will use your client because it does not have the BASIC necessary functions?

All of us who are shocked by what is happening here do not need to be a programmer and a space-level manager to understand the basic things that any email client in 2024 should be developed with functions:

    1. General inbox(incoming and sent) for all accounts
    2. General search for all accounts
    3. When closing the application, minimize it to the tray and work in the background - outlook new does not even have such a simple function
    4. Synchronization of all accounts(outlook, gmail, icloud) with the cloud (already implemented only on PC app - not android)

All these vital functions are not in your roadmap, why would people need other useless functions if they won't use outlook(new) because of the lack of the above functions? Your programmers install a salon and an air conditioner in a car that doesn't drive - do you understand this?

I am very, very sorry that your leadership will never see this message and will not see the general anger of the people - this is the result of your work
