Looking for "all mailboxes" in new outlook interface

I also rely heavily on the Search all mailboxes function. I think this is an essential function and needs to be included.

A related issue - when composing a message in the previous Outlook, there was the option to change the account from which it is sent, even after you had composed the email - in the New Outlook, changing the account deletes any content I have written - I may as well just create a new email. Managing multiple mailboxes is a constant challenge and this is another function being removed in the New Outlook.

Can I concur with the other users - this is an extremely useful feature and because I have new and old outlook currently set up differently the "just use the old outlook" functionality doesn't work for me.

For your concerned issue regarding "All Mailboxes" option in New Outlook, unfortunately it is unavailable in New Outlook. It is a by-design behavior. We'd suggest you to toggle off the "Try the new Outlook" button in New Outlook and swith to the classic Outlook as the New Outlook is a beta version and it is basically a web-based application. The look and feel come close to the Outlook Online version some features are still missing.

I strongly recommend that this feature be re-added before the "update" goes fully live. The ability to search across multiple email accounts is the main reason for using Outlook desktop, it is why we don't use the online version of Outlook.

In our company, we have multiple teams that may touch an order (customer service, purchasing, tracking, etc.). It is very important to have the ability to search all accounts for on order and see everything / everyone who may have had been involved so that we have a full picture of any issues.

For many of our computers, we specifically purchased the desktop licenses simply so they could use the Outlook desktop app to search multiple email accounts at once. Remove this feature, and we will no longer have a reason to pay for the desktop license for many of our team members. If this function did not exists, we would probably purchase a third party software that had this function, to manage our emails.

The Outlook Team is tracking Unified Inbox as a feature request for future consideration. It's a commonly requested feature but the team has other priority work in front of it currently. I can manage without a unified inbox but the cross- inbox searching is a tool I have become used to and so I will be using the previous version of Outlook for now. I thought New Outlook would be set up for it because the drop down in the search bar starts with "current mailbox" - I'm not sure how much work is involved in making it "all mailboxes" but it's currently a change that's impacted my workflow.
