How do I log off the new outlook app for pc. I dont see file , a button with my initials, my email, none of the usual log off solutions

Log into the web based version and sign out of your account from the right upper corner.

This did not work for me. I logged out of my outlook.com web version, and I was still able to reach my mail in the New Outlook. (Win 11)

Like others, I desire a simple log out and sign in. This seems to be something only Microsoft can provide. I wish they would do so and add the sign out/in process that the webmail uses.

This will only sign you out of the Web Based Outlook. i.e. Next time you open "outlook.com" in your browser it will take you to the Microsoft Account Login page.

BUT - This has no effect at all on the New Outlook For Windows app on a PC. It will go straight to your Inbox.

The only method I have found that works is to Sign out of your Microsoft account everywhere. Follow the instructions on this Microsoft Support doc.

It took about 8 hours but I was finally and completely signed out. Next time I open Outlook it would pop up the Microsoft Account Login dialog. Closing the account login dialog a few times, without entering any credentials, would not get me in. Only a Sign in failed.

I don't like this, so what I think I will do over a period of time is to migrate all my 'saved' emails & re-direct current contacts to one of my other email accounts - then I'll delete everything & close the account down. You really shouldn't have done this, but guess what? FAFO!

That is the stupidest thing Microsoft could has made. Logging out of your outlook account has always fixed random and weird issues in Outlook, now we can't do that. Thanks for nothing

Just log in on the we and change password it will kick you out from the app.
