How do I log off the new outlook app for pc. I dont see file , a button with my initials, my email, none of the usual log off solutions

I couldn't figure out how to log out but I was able to "remove" my account from the app effectively logging me out of it.

Here is what I did:

• Hover over your email/account name on the left above "Inbox"
• Click the 3 dots
• Click Manage Account
• In Accounts > Email Accounts click Manage
• Click Remove

Hello Adriana H Hi, I'm Karl and will be happy to help you today. There is no logoff option in the "new Outlook" which is no different than the Mail app which it will eventually permanently replace. The "new Outlook" is essentially "Outlook on the web" wrapped in an app framework with the added functionality to add external IMAP accounts. Unlike accessing sn Outlook.com account via a browser which only involved the one account, the "new Outlook" can hav up to 10 accounts configured. As for the "File" tab, that only applies to the classic Outlook desktop program (part of Office). There is also no logoff option in Outlook desktop. I have the same issue. From my laptop I've logged out on the outlook browser, so I do have to log in with password so that's ok, but I can't log out of the new outlook app.

I've removed account which says it will sign you out, but it doesn't

     Manage Account

• In Accounts > Email Accounts click Manage
• Click Remove

I've deleted the New outlook app, but if it is opened on a search, my email accounts show and it goes straight into both my mail accounts without asking for a password. I've signed out of all microsoft accounts, forget trusted device, removed my laptop from microsoft account and more that has been suggested when searching on this subject, but still on the app on laptop it goes straight into both my mail accounts.

Surely there must be a way to sign out of my mail accounts on the new outlook app. This is such a security risk. I need to leave my laptop with a repair shop and they will be able to access all my email accounts

SOLUTION!!! This worked.

The last step, step 5, where it says to delete all the files. DELETE EVERYTHING. Files AND folders.

I had no files, but I had folders. So I left the folder untouched, but it didn't work.

And then when I opened New Outlook again, the files from step 3 and 4 came back. So at least I knew we were on the right track.

So I closed New Outlook again, did step 3 and 4 again, and this time, for step 5, I deleted the single folder that I had left untouched. The folder had a bunch of subfolders too, so all that was deleted. and now that entire directory was CLEAR.

Opened New Outlook and VIOLA! (Kelly Bundy reference), my email address was no longer in selected accounts.

Finally, SUCCESS!

SO, to round this all out. (this is what I did)

Make sure you log out of your account in windows settings. Remove it from your Windows account, etc. etc.

Make sure you log out of the Microsoft Store

Then, do the instructions in the link above.

I will actually now copy and paste those instructions here JUST IN CASE one day that site goes down

Step 1:
Close new Outlook. If it is running when you do the following steps, the addresses won't be removed.

Step 2:
Remove the accounts from Windows Settings > Accounts. Look under Email and under Work or School accounts. Remove or disconnect the accounts. Note: removing accounts here will sign you out of the account in Office and OneDrive.

Step 3:
After removing the accounts from Windows Settings, you need to delete the contents of this folder:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneAuth\blobs

Step 4:
Using Notepad, open each file in the following folder. Look for the email address for the account you want to remove. When you find a file with the address in it, delete the file.

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneAuth\accounts

Step 5:
Finally, delete all the files AND FOLDERS* in this folder:

C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\IdentityCache

Step 6:
Open new Outlook and open the Add account dialog.

I have same problem and want to logout as whichever account is logged in is stopping me from opening all other microsoft office apps.

Ignore all that.

Just do what I outlined in my post.

Follow the procedure.
