Outlook 2016 App Search Bar

One of my clients woke to a new search bar in Outlook 2016 right next to the regular search bar, the new search bar is called "App Search", it is bigger than the regular search bar, pushes it aside to the point that it is too small to work with, and the App Search bar itself doesn't work at all, you can click it but nothing happens, I have tried to find a way to remove it but even uninstalling and reinstalling the whole office suite the App Search bar still remains, she has two computers but only one is affected by it.

I would like some help with it, or at least make a notice of it so Microsoft can fix this bug.

    Eu também estou com o mesmo problema hoje... Ocupa todo o espaço da pesquisa e isso é irritante. Ter uma caixa desse tamanho sem a menor utilidade porque simplesmente não funciona.

    UPDATE:

    Well overnight, the rocket scientists at Microsoft released a new version of Outlook with the SAME VERSION NUMBER (2401), but a new build number (16.0.17231.20194). This did NOT remove the annoying App Search bar! The App Search bar is still totally useless as well (i.e. it doesn't work) and there is still no option in File-->Options-->Advanced to turn it off.

    Beyond the obvious fact that they didn't fix this issue, I find it disturbing that Microsoft labeled this new release with the same version number (2401). It appears they have done this in the past though with version 2312. At least they changed the build number.

    If you still want to install the new release, you can do manually by navigating to File-->Office Account-->Update Options-->Update Now.

    Hi we have also issues with App Search field in outlooks. Three companies are reporting that more less today it is displaying in their outlooks and is not useful, no options to turn off/hide. All users want to switch it off.

    Would you be so kind and not turn on by defautl changes in UI next time and even IF then please provide option "OFF".

    At now please provide solution to manage this "feature" .

    Hi there fellow officemates,

    I am also having the same issue this morning as of 10:30am. For some reason I had no issue or notice of it yesterday but it popped up as I booted outlook this morning.

    Hopefully this gets fixed ASAP as I cant see what I am trying in the search box?

    Good luck to everyone trying to get work done on this Friday, this might be enough to just scrap the whole day at 10am and go to lunch early.

    I have the same problem. Annoying App Search bar that takes too much space and which you can't use. Very annoying!!!
