Outlook 2016 App Search Bar

One of my clients woke to a new search bar in Outlook 2016 right next to the regular search bar, the new search bar is called "App Search", it is bigger than the regular search bar, pushes it aside to the point that it is too small to work with, and the App Search bar itself doesn't work at all, you can click it but nothing happens, I have tried to find a way to remove it but even uninstalling and reinstalling the whole office suite the App Search bar still remains, she has two computers but only one is affected by it.

I would like some help with it, or at least make a notice of it so Microsoft can fix this bug.

    I applied these steps. Now, I no longer have the “Show Apps in Outlook” under File > Options > Advanced. Further, the annoying box is still there. But it does not have a magnifying glass!

    I have exactly the same issue. Presumably we have to wait until the next update, but it makes Outlook 2016 very difficult to search. Unwelcome!

    Hey everyone. Microsoft just released a new version of Outlook and Office, Version 2401 (Build 17231.20236), and it appears to have resolved the issue with the much maligned App Search box.

    Everything is explained by them at this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/outlook-unexpectedly-has-an-app-search-bar-above-the-message-list-c1bed629-0d4e-42d4-b66e-877cccb74b47

    Choose File-->Office Account-->Update Options-->Update Now to force your Office to update right away. Mine took a very long time for some reason, perhaps because of their server being heavily loaded.
