One of my clients woke to a new search bar in Outlook 2016 right next to the regular search bar, the new search bar is called "App Search", it is bigger than the regular search bar, pushes it aside to the point that it is too small to work with, and the App Search bar itself doesn't work at all, you can click it but nothing happens, I have tried to find a way to remove it but even uninstalling and reinstalling the whole office suite the App Search bar still remains, she has two computers but only one is affected by it.
I would like some help with it, or at least make a notice of it so Microsoft can fix this bug.

Currently, my application is running the latest version, as confirmed by navigating to the update options, which indicates that I am up to date. Nevertheless, the "app search" bar persists on the interface. I react to this tread to keep being notified.
Hey everyone, I'm sorry to report that the issue was resolved in the most annoying way - on it's own.
I've tried some of the suggestions in this thread and other solution across the web, nothing worked and me and the client gave up on resolving the issue, only for her to call me today to report that the search bar is gone this morning.
It seems that Microsoft might have released a buggy update in the last few weeks and now are releasing an update to fix it, with everything going on in the background.
So far I'm sad to say that there seems to not be any actual solution but to twiddle your thumbs and wait for the magic update.
I'm currently on Windows 10 and I have the same issue that just appeared today on my Microsoft Outlook 2019 version. The app search bar is huge, taking away all the vision on the normal search box, I can't even see what I'm searching anymore.
This app search bar doesn't even work, I can't click it, can't write anything. I have tried all above and it doesn't disappear. Must be a bug, we need an option to remove this app search bar. Please fix this bug.

Was fine yesterday and then this morning the search box is their and I have done no updates so wonder how Microsoft is doing updates without my approval or knowledge.
This is why I do not have automatic updates on as it has in the past crashed the machine.
Hope Microsoft sorts quickly.
Same issue for me with my old W10 desktop running Office 2016. My laptop running W11 with Office 2016 hasn't had this annoying 'app search' box appear
