Sharing from Word to Outlook still opens the old Outlook and not the new one so the emails are not sending.

Have upgraded to the new Outlook.

I used to be able to easily share a word doc or pdf version as an attachment onto email.

It currently still loads up the old outlook when using this feature. i want it to open up the new outlook when using the share feature on word.

Same issue. The only positive one on the new client is the snooze mails button. It just needs so much improvements that I find it strange that it doesn't have a beta label and is being pushed so hard.

Any update on this? I had sent important documents to a customer, thought they had sent. When I went to my sent emails, drafts and outbox in the New Outlook, they weren't there. Tried sending again. They didn't send.

This thread explains a lot. I can't access the Old Outlook anymore due to compatibility. This is horrendous.

The email attachment feature within Word is ** not ** completing (in the new Outlook). It returns a MAPI error.

I agree the workaround is to attach a file to a new Outlook mail message but this is not a productivity boost - adds time to the process. I am surprised that this feature, that is so often used in day-to-day tasks, was not available in the new Outlook.

New Outlook continues to provide pleasure and (often unnecessary) pain.

The Outlook Team added this on the roadmap as https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=397094

When it rolls out it will first go to Targeted Release for 30 days before it goes to general production. If you want this feature when it first goes out ask your Tenant Admin to add you to Targeted Release, Set up the Standard or Targeted release options - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn.

Microsoft, I rely on this function several times daily, so we urgently need a fix!
