Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

Would have thought of all the advancements Microsoft is making, this would be in the easy basket, and high on the user experience list.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Have upgraded to the new Outlook.
I used to be able to easily share a word doc or pdf version as an attachment onto email.
It currently still loads up the old outlook when using this feature. i want it to open up the new outlook when using the share feature on word.

Hi,
I had the same issue with Outlook and sharing from PowerPoint, how I resolved it:
Click on your Windows Start button
Click on Settings
Select Apps
Select Default apps
Where it says Set defaults for application, use the search apps function
Look for "outlook (new)"
Click on Outlook (new)
Now for every file type or link type you see in this screen, change the default from Outlook to Outlook (new)
This should resolve your issues.
adding one more to the list..would love a solution here.
It would be great to have the share attachment option work from Word to OutLook (new), however if you use OneDrive to share instead it works fine.
Hoping for OutLook (new) to facilitate the shared attachment option soon.
I have updated all default apps but the old OutLook still holds some defaults that cannot be changed, yet.
Thanks
