Sharing from Word to Outlook still opens the old Outlook and not the new one so the emails are not sending.

Non-sensical, Annoying, Why can't it just open the bloody default email program and send it.

Microsoft Word/Excel. Please meet Microsoft [New] Outlook.

Microsoft Word: Hey there Outlook, please send this document.

[New] Outlook: Hey Word, you old dog, I'm NEW outlook, I can't send your old stuff.

Microsoft Word: But Outlook 2016 did this no problem.

[New] Outlook: Yes, but I'm new and improved NEW outlook. With feedback, emoticons, and some other sexy stuff.

Microsoft Word; But you can't send my document.

[New] Outlook: Not until your [New] Word.

• New Outlook has issues sharing files using the share button from MS Office. This option still opens the Old Outlook.
• New Outlook has issues opening "attached e-mails"

This is still an issue in November 2024. Why is this still a thing? we are pushed towards using the new system (which is basically just outlook online but in a desktop app, with all of the missing features the online version has!!) and now we cannot use essential business features such as sharing directly from the office app, and performing a "send / receive"!! why can we also not bulk move emails from the inbox to a folder, we have to check mark each email to move them (why can we not just sort by sender then grab the sender name like in old outlook?)

Overall a backwards step by Microsoft and the Office / Outlook team, very disappointed

And before I am told to just use the old outlook if the new is causing issues, my old outlook keep losing appointments and meetings. I accept them and they disappear never to be seen again. Its almost like new outlook was released and old outlook stopped functioning correctly.....

Careful what you wish for. When I try to share by right-clicking a file I cannot get it to go through old Outlook, but through New Outlook it just hides my messages.
I send Zoom requests to my mother, for instance, Click Send Meeting Request, put in her address and press Send. The only way I have found to see the message again is to open Old Outlook, then my outbox suddenly fills up with the unsent messages.
I have had so many problems with New Outlook that I have reverted to Classic, and would also revert to Win10, if it were a safe option.
Now I can't even tight-click, select Send to and choose Classic Outlook.
I have a friend who works for MS. I don't send him a Christmas card any longer.

I'm having the same problem. Had no idea my emails weren't even being sent.

This should be an embarrassment for Microsoft but clearly they have been ignoring this for 8+ months now. Not even the courtesy of a response.

I have a subscription to Microsoft Office 365. A Microsoft Surface Pro. And this performs worse than my old dell laptop circa 2008.
