Sharing from Word to Outlook still opens the old Outlook and not the new one so the emails are not sending.

Have upgraded to the new Outlook.

I used to be able to easily share a word doc or pdf version as an attachment onto email.

It currently still loads up the old outlook when using this feature. i want it to open up the new outlook when using the share feature on word.

Hello, IdrisAW you may be experiencing this issue because the Old version of Outlook as not swapped over to the New Version.

    1. Try opening the Classic Version
    2. click the switch in the top right-hand corner to make it open as the New.

Once done attempt to share a Word document, it should open it up in the New Outlook now

I found a solution without saving the file for this problem

use the same procedure up to the file gets attached to the old outlook, then open the new mail message in outlook new and drag the file which got attached in old Outlook to the new message already opened in Outlook. its working for me

we are forced to do this circus still we get this bug fixed by microsoft

    This worked for me.

To clarify step 4: you need to use the "Try the new Outlook" toggle in the upper right hand side of the screen just above the ribbon. This will shutdown classic and covert over to the New Outlook.

I also closed all Office applications before opening Outlook Classic and making the switch.

This fixed the issue for me.

I am in agreement and have this same issue. Did not realize initially that the emails were sitting in the outbox when I hit send. I have created my own workaround when sending from inside of a document. When the old version pops up (which I deleted from my apps so have no idea how this can happen) I just open a second email to send. I send the one with the attachment and wait a minute before closing the blank message and old outlook. Slightly quicker than the save and attach option and sometimes what I send doesn't need to be saved.
