Sharing from Word to Outlook still opens the old Outlook and not the new one so the emails are not sending.

Have upgraded to the new Outlook.

I used to be able to easily share a word doc or pdf version as an attachment onto email.

It currently still loads up the old outlook when using this feature. i want it to open up the new outlook when using the share feature on word.

    Hi there,

    I haven't seen a viable fix for the sharing of documents being done from the document, using the attach to email function. I however, think I have found a workaround until it can be fixed properly.

    When you send the first document it (for me) doesn't send. It sits in the classic outlook's outbox. However, while the dud is sitting there in limbo, I was able to send out a dozen spreadsheets. When I was finished sending everything I needed to, I just deleted the dud email.

    No clue why that worked, but it totally did. =)

    I had a user today with the same issue. To fix the issue I used the toggle to switch back to Classic Outlook. Then I switched it back to New Outlook and it resolved the issue. Shared word documents are now opening in the New Outlook.

    I am curious if this was a long term fix. I can switch from new to classic then back to new. That allows the file/share routine to work for a period of time but then fails again. After the failure file/share reverts back to classic. Any update would be helpful.

    This happened to me and I already "sent" my message - is there any way to retrieve it? I didn't save it so now I have to retype a very long email because it didn't actually send
