Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

A new "App Search" field has appeared to the right of the normal Search field. I can't seem to find any information on the articles explaining what this is or how to remove it. The "App Search" field also doesn't do anything. You can't type anything where it says App Search and nothing happens when you click the magnifying glass. A couple of things that have already been attempted:

Yesterday on an update the feature was installed on a desktop of my company, I really would like to have an option to disable the App search! It is very annoying and it also does not work!!!

- restarted Outlook
- restarted computer
- checked on others on different computer (they also have it)
- tried resetting view in settings
One of my users is having the same issue. Can Microsoft kindly provide a solution for this already.
Very unimpressed with the latest UI obstruction on Outlook. Exact problem what everyone else here has reported - please FIX it!!
The registry modification solution suggested by another user unfortunately did not work for me.
