A new "App Search" field has appeared to the right of the normal Search field. I can't seem to find any information on the articles explaining what this is or how to remove it. The "App Search" field also doesn't do anything. You can't type anything where it says App Search and nothing happens when you click the magnifying glass. A couple of things that have already been attempted:

How is this only cosmetic? I have lost my ability to search emails.
No, I don;t want them rolling out a quick fix. But, how about restoring everyone back to the prior version until they can get their act together and send out something that actually works as intended?
But, to do that would require an even more visible admission of how badly they screwed up.

Same issue as of January 30, 2024 on desktop Outlook 2019. None of the "solutions" offered by Microsoft have helped.
i have the same issue. going into safe mode did not help.
