Search not working on Outlook 16.79 on Mac Sonoma

Hi running Outlook 16.79 on Mac Sonoma 14.0 (23A344) and search function doesn't work at all. Any tips would be much appreciated, thanks

    Actually, I'm unable to go back as it seems if I do I'll lose most of my emails over the past month. New saved folders are gone, emails gone and more.

    What a total disaster this "New Outlook" truly is.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.     Hello, Im running outlook 16.79 on Sonoma. There is no search option after Outlook<Settings. Please advise.

    Where can I find "Preferences" in your rebuild recommendation "Rebuild the search index: Sometimes the search index can become corrupted, which can cause issues with search. To rebuild the search index, go to Outlook > Preferences > Search > Indexing > Rebuild***.***"

    I have Outlook version 16.8 and subscribe to Microsoft 365. I see "settings" but not "preferences", and "settings" does not contain a spotlight search.

    Hello,

    I have the same problem and I'm following your troubleshooting steps, the first one is checked. However, when I go for "search" in "preferences" I can't find "search".

    (I tried to enclose a screenshot but when using "Insert image it just returns "Upload failed"...)
