Outlook attachments showing in body of email rather than attached to it

We have one user whose email attachments always show in the body of her emails rather than as attachments. We have already confirmed that her default format is HTML. I have watched her process for attaching them and it is exactly as I do them and mine always show as attachments. Please advise. *I have since learned that this was a changed instituted by Microsoft and now all links show up in the body of the email rather than as an attachment. Not a glitch; just a bad update.

    I noticed the same. I switch the email I am writing or receiving to HTML and the attachment is not in the body of the email. If I open the New Outlook version then the attachment is showing up. In the New Outlook, messages are set to compose as HTML.

    I agree this is unprofessional and we should not have to ask to fix something that shouldn't be broken.

    Everyone in our organization also dislikes this feature and I also request Microsoft to change the setting so that the attachment icon still shows in the email folders.

    Thanks...this did the trick from me. Never had to do this until now. In case anyone wants to know, this format section you show in the image to change to HTML, is located on the "Format Text" tab.

    I faced the same issue earlier on, but I noticed that if the email is under Rich Text format, then the attached file you drag into your email will be in the email body itself. However once I click on to "HTML" and try dragging a PDF file into the email, the file would be an attachment.

    Before you reply to the email just check and see if the email you received is HTML or Rich Text. I tried opening up a few emails from my colleagues, and those with HTML format, I will have no issue attaching the file as it should be (as attachment); whereas those who sent me as a RTF format, when I drag a file in it will automatically becomes embedded in the email body - until I click and change to HTML as shown in the screenshot below.
