The New Outlook does not appear to have Field Chooser to customize Outlook Folders

Ridiculous that such a basic feature is missing!

My mind is blown at how this issue has persisted for a full year and Microsoft still has yet to respond.

For anyone else whose searches for a solution led them to this thread, leave a comment about how disappointed you are that Microsoft continues to defy all reason and needlessly disrupt a perfectly good workflow by taking away basic features found in every other alternative email client, but still demands we give them money and run our businesses with their buggy, insecure, nonsensical operating system.

Keep this thread going forever so they have to acknowledge their failure.

I truly hope Microsoft collapses in the coming years. It would not make up for the decades of frustration they have caused me, both at work and at home, but it would be a great start.

Imagine thinking removing something as basic as being able to edit columns in an email view pane was a good idea. Fire the person who had it.

I completely agree, Cathy. It does seem that Microsoft show little interest in certain discussions or ideas from the general public who have supported their products for many years.

While updates and changes are undoubtedly the foundation of progress, when they come at the expense of productivity (as highlighted in this discussion), Microsoft needs to take greater notice and listen more closely..

Microsoft is going to ask me how satisfied I am with this reply.

I'm very pleased with the reply - it agrees with me - but if I say I'm satisfied, I am 100% confident Microsoft will interpret that as "problem solved" and ignore the problem.

I am confident that Microsoft looks at the large number of replies to this issue and thinks, "This is great, all these users collaborating on this issue and helping each other. what a great community."

And I'm also sure that (after the first couple of times when they posted solutions that don't work), they have not read these posts.

They still don't know that EVERYONE is saying yes, this is awful, I hate it, I'm not using the new one, I'm looking for other mail tools, I'm looking at alternatives to Microsoft.

Personally, I hate it so much I am retiring. Well, ok, Microsoft is not the ONLY reason, but, goodbye!

I'm with everyone else, if in the near future I am forced to move to the new outlook, I desperately need the field chooser option.

On my current outlook 'old version', I've noticed the field chooser option not appearing when I create a new folder - very frustrating. The work around I have found is that I copy an existing folder that still has the field chooser. It's a daft way of doing things, but for now it works.
