I use the new version of outlook. The drop down menu for attachments, suggests three files; none is the most recent file used/saved. I have to go into my word documents folders, find the file, and open it to attach it to an email. How can I get the drop down menu of suggested files to display my most recently worked on file?

I'm also missing the Recent Items in the Attach File feature. Please reinstate this the way it worked previously.
Still having this issue mid December 2024. Have to switch back to classic Outlook because of it :(
As many have pointed about the Office Apps, they are NOT productivity tools, and the same applies to Outlook. Like you, I have all files on One Drive, but there is no setting to select or deselect their "suggested files" or default to recent ones. The App seeks to change your behavior and does not seek your preferences or learn from them. That list of things to do is hysterical--the old Windows clunking along behind the scenes as it tries to paint an Apple beard on its apps. Honestly....
I can't believe this hasn't been fixed yet. I finally got fed up (and curious) and searched how to re-enable this feature in the new Outlook and wound up here. I've been using it since late October and have been missing the ability to click on attach and pick the file I just edited to attach to an email.
Fix this Microsoft!
