Emails sent on the New Outlook application are saved in the draft folder and not sent

You can open the draft folder, double-click the email that won't send, and click Send again. You can also delete the message and rewrite it from scratch if needed. - Make sure Outlook is not offline. You can check the status at the bottom right of the Outlook window. It should say Connected. If it says Offline, click the Send/Receive tab and then click Work Offline to toggle it off. - Ensure you are connected to the internet. - Close and restart Outlook. You can exit the Outlook application and make sure it is not running in the background. You can use the Task Manager to end any Outlook processes if needed. This is so pathetic!

So now I must find a way to make my "unsafe" Outlook 2007 work again with gmail.

There is no "drafts file" like on previous iterations of Outlook. I've looked everywhere.

thousands of threads on this topic and going back as far back as 2018 in this community. win mail was the best and again MS has some smart alec that thought it was a good idea to kill off that product just like they did with the taskbar thingy for win 11

What I first noticed is that this doesn't happen at all if I simply wait for the email to show up in the sent folder before closing out the email. But alas, I still forget sometimes and see an email or two stuck in drafts.

SO - what I found helped was to change the 'un-send email' setting from 10 seconds to zero seconds. So far so good!

   Click the following:

1. View tab
2. View Settings (with the little blue gear icon next to it)
3. Mail
4. Compose & reply
5. Scroll down to "Undo Send" where you can slide the bar down to zero.
