I am a support consultant for many customers. Getting a bunch of calls this morning (03/21/2024) about Legacy Mac version 16.8x and above not syncing.
If they switch to New Outlook, no issues. Online is also working.
Why would Legacy stop working today for some? Running Mac OS X 13.x and 14.x with same issue.
Please advise.

It still does not connect and does not synch as of today thursday 28 march at 19.30 CET.
I contacted my Service Desk to verify that my mailbox is on the fixed server version. Let's see what happens.
Except it's not fixed. And within the same company, working off the same Exchange server, there are some for whom Outlook Legacy version works and some for whom it does not.

According to MS Support chat, they have now confirmed that it is fixed and that the issue is on our internal server side. They said that our internal server team must check that my mailbox is on the fixed server version. I have sent a mail to our local support. I hope this can be fixed soon 😞
Last Thursday I also removed the account in legal mode when I still thought it might be a client-side problem and I also got that error message every time I tried to recreate that account. The only way I got out of it was to recover a Time Machine backup from 2 days ago, thus losing the emails received in those two days and already moved to the folders on my computer. Meanwhile, I worked with the New Version of Outlook for two days (how painful) and then on Sunday afternoon the legacy version started working again.
Jealous!
11:18 EDT — still no dice here. :(
Interesting thing though—in my accounts, I now have a green light next to my account, suggesting I am connecting properly — this light had been yellow every other time I checked this week. But my Outlook is still not sync’d since 3/22, and it's still bouncing between "connecting to" and "not connected".
