Why is Mac Outlook Legacy not working today?

Like other users and contributors here, I suddenly realised there was an issue on 21-03-2024 in the late morning (GMT) after an automatic update. I didn't realise the update caused the issue and spend about an hour resetting passwords etc thinking my machine was the issue. It caused considerable stress because I use Outlook for my work in the NHS, and the issue cost me considerable time I cannot afford.

I buy 365 myself so I can use my Mac for work, for which I have the full permission of my IT provider, so I feel MS should offer every Mac user their subscription back for the month as a gesture of goodwill. It by no means covers the level of frustration experienced by many, but it would be a welcome gesture nonetheless.

I have about 55 tasks spread throughout the year in Outlook, and I know ToDo somewhat covers it, but when you work with familiar software every day and are then forced to adopt something else that looks different and is extremely laggy due to it being web-based, it is very frustrating.

Microsoft are a multinational corporation who should not be making mistakes in their software releases like this (if it was indeed a mistake). I call on MS to stop hiding and come out with open and transparent updates, and show a little empathy for those of us that rely on the superior legacy version of Outlook over the new, poorly written version that has limited functionality and is little use to most of us.

I hope this is fixed at 2pm (E.S.T.) when the next update is due. This is really crippling to all of us who have used Outlook for years. It's making me consider trying Apple Mail app for the first time.

After an hour troubleshooting this Outlook legacy connectivity issue on my Mac thinking it was a problem with my system, I decided to search for answers and come to find it wasn't my set up after all.

I hope this gets resolved soon because the new Outlook for Mac is not an option for many reason, one reason being it doesn't work with an important plugin I use. If this is the end of Outlook legacy, it'll be the end of Outlook for me.

Me too Version 16.83.1... When is the expected fix due?
