Why is Outlook on my Mac suddenly crashing consistently?

I have been trying to open Outlook on my MacBook Pro all day, and it has consistently crashed. I was just using Outlook last night and had not made any changes to apps or settings since trying to open Outlook this morning. MacBook is running Sonoma 14.3.1. Never any issues until now. Consistent error messages....even after uninstalling and re-installing...per Microsoft support which was not very helpful.

Below is the most recent message I received (minus hundreds of lines due to character limits).

Tech support just sent me this:

"We have identified this as a BUG and this is resolved after installing the latest update. Please install the latest update for Outlook in https://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/C1297A47-86C4-4C1F-97FA-950631F94777/MacAutoupdate/Microsoft_Outlook_16.84.24041420_Updater.pkg and check if that helps."

I've completed the install and new Outlook seems to be working again.

    Hope this helps!

The update fixed the issue for me. After the update, I can run Outlook with my Notifications turned on in my System Settings without crashing Outlook. (Note: It took a few days to get to the update because the corporation I work for uses Microsoft's Company Portal, so there was a bit of a lag between the update rolling out and then showing up in the Company Portal.) All is good now on both MacBook Pros that had this crashing issue.

    Thanks!

This did not solve my problem. I still cannot search my "in box" for messages. I have to search on my iPhone and re-email to me so I can get access to a message. Both the new version of Outlook and Legacy respond the same way. So disappointing. May have to switch to my Apple client, which works on my home Mac as well as calendar.

Having this problem today (once again) and tried this "fix" but discovered that notifications for Microsoft Outlook are already turned off :( Thus, doesn't seem sufficient to explain/solve the problem.

I've finally found a workaround that works for me. NOTIFICATIONS. Specifically, Notifications in Apple's System Settings.

    Do these steps:

BEFORE you launch Microsoft Outlook, go to your Mac's System Settings, click on Notifications, scroll down to Microsoft Outlook, turn off "Allow notifications" by setting the top right button to the off position, quit System Settings, launch Microsoft Outlook (it should now open without a problem), go back to your Mac's System Settings, click on Notifications, scroll down to Microsoft Outlook, turn on "Allow notifications" by setting the top right button to the on position, then quit System Settings. You'll have to do these steps EVERY TIME you want to launch Outlook. (Or, if you don't need the Mac to alert you when you get notifications, you could just leave the "Allow notifications" off, and not have to worry about going into System Settings and doing these steps every day.)

Over the last few days, I've done these steps on both of my M1 MacBook Pros in my office that have this issue, and it's been a successful workaround.

Like many others on this thread, my problem started on or around March 19, so Microsoft did something on that day, or an Apple Sonoma update broke some Microsoft programming. And, it's seemingly got something to do with Notifications at the system level.

So, Microsoft (or Apple) needs to figure out a fix.
