What replaces the "Edit Message" button in the New Outlook?

This is a critical feature for me and the only reason I haven't yet migrated to the new Outlook. With shared mailboxes, this is the only feature available to our team to add notes to an email to keep everyone updated on the status or what actions are being taken before it can be responded to. Can this PLEASE be prioritised.

this thread is over a year now and this feature is still unavailable in the "new" outlook. I, as many others, have not switched to the new version of Outlook because the edit function is critical for managing emails pertaining to purchases at work. I don't care how it's done, just give us an option to edit or add notes to emails. Microsoft can figure out 10 million ways to change things to aggravate and upheave our daily workflow, but they can't add this function??? (or won't...hmmm)

Interested in when this might be updated. in office work is easier without building layers to outlook threads.
i think a lot of office workers can better from it and being that outlook is the main email use in most offices.
this would benefit everyone

How could they be so careless to release a new Outlook and not have this functionality. Of course we need to edit received emails. Our outlook is also where we keep record of correspondence and sometimes, we need to make updates to previous versions of the email. This is a ridiculous oversight. Please create update expeditiously!!
