May I know the same function of "edit message" in the New Outlook?

This results in double messages for one intended subject. Not a solution, just a workaround. I have backed into 2024 Pro Plus version to rid myself of the annoyance. Not a solution for non business/volume customers though.

i need this to update my boss on what I have done with the particular email.

Apart from toggling between new and old Outlook I found this works well:

    • select Forward in the message you need to edit,
    • key in your notes
    • save as draft
    • move it to your inbox or folder

This keeps your original message and notes in one place, maintains all the code and details of the original message and you don't have to send it anywhere to save it.

What a ridiculous feature to remove, we use it every day to mark off things done from a schedule that is emailed out. We've done this for years and years. Now some developer in MS has decided to remove it, and they just ignore hundreds of people requesting it. This is the problem with monopolies!

Somehow, I have little hope that Microsoft reads this or cares. Someone decided, this is not needed anymore. But if someone does, can we have an update, please?

I was just FORCED to convert to new Outlook only to find so many capabilities are gone (cannot edit message (I have to do this at least once a week when sent a message with attachment that I want to imbed in e-mail), cannot order/sort folders, no longer can spellcheck with F7 button, etc. etc.). I am sure I will find many more deficiencies. Why was I forced to change to an inferior product??? Why can't you at least keep all the good with the old and maybe add a few things that are actually better?? Sheesh...
