If the CLASSIC OUTLOOK is not working properly, it is possible to download CLASSIC OUTLOOK, and re-install, without deleting the NEW OUTLOOK.
Thanks for the info. I tried and didn't work for me it just freezes up and I have to close it out.
Thank you for that idea Ramesh. The problem for me is that my “old” outlook stopped working for some reason and the only way for my mailboxes to sync was through “new” outlook. Some have suggested that my ISP no longer supports the old version. Regardless, it no longer worked for me.
While I understand why tech companies need to periodically update their software, it just boggles my mind that they would release such a drastic change from a version that is relied on by millions. It has taken decades to learn all the nuances that made working with Outlook so productive. And now that productivity has been severely diminished.
Microsoft, any comments?
I just managed to find a much simpler solution. Windows allows us to install and use BOTH the NEW OUTLOOK and the CLASSIC OUTLOOK at the same time. The CLASSIC OUTLOOK was still on my computer (it was not deleted), and I was able to add the icon on my taskbar (I have two OUTLOOK icons on my taskbar now).
I opened the CLASSIC OUTLOOK from my taskbar icon, and voila! All my previous email accounts, and all my archived .pst data files were all visible and available there. So I have decided to keep the CLASSIC OUTLOOK for my old .pst archived data files, and use the NEW OUTLOOK for my email accounts.
So now I use my NEW OUTLOOK for everything except for two things - Editing and Viewing ER ARCHIVED eMails.
And I use my CLASSIC OUTLOOK to EDIT eMails and view ARCHIVED eMails. When we edit a message in OLD CLASSIC OUTLOOK, the edited message will update the message in the NEW OUTLOOK.
