For some reason when my outlook app is not showing new emails, so I searched online and the advice on Microsoft site was to clear the apps cache and storage (which I did)

This has obviously removed all my setting on my phone so when i go into the app again it asked me to log in again, when i click this is automatically detects my outlook email address, I clock on this (it doesn't ask for password BTW - but i did try to just enter my email and password but same error message) but then just come up with an error saying " error occurred during authentication. Please try again later"

I am using the latest version of Outlook for Android app (27 Feb 2024) - 4.2405.2 (42405820).

I am using Android 14.

I started experiencing this issue today, Feb 27, 2024 as soon as I downloaded the Outlook app for Android.

I can log in successfully to this Yahoo Mail account, using Outlook for Windows, web etc. Only Outlook for Android is a problem.

I had issues with Google and Outlook accounts but then somehow they were resolved when suddenly the Outlook was able to sign in, even when there was the same error message displayed.

How can this be fixed, I need access to my emails asap

    Thanks for your reply KING142. As much as I wish you could connect, it's a relief to rear that someone else has tried all the steps suggested but still cannot get it to work correctly. This is really a "conundrum" for me because I can use Outlook on my Mac and on my Samsung S24 to work, but I keep getting that error on my Samsung S9 tablet.

    I had this issue when trying to login to Outlook on a new oneplus phone. The solution for me was to remove Work account under Settings > Users & accounts. I believe the Google migration tool brought this account over from my old oneplus phone.

    If you go into Settings - Accounts and Backup - Manage Accounts and scroll to the bottom, you'll see a blue icon that says Work Account. Remove that and the email account you are trying to add. Then go back to Outlook and add the email again.

    That has worked for multiple people when I'm helping them with this very issue.
