An M365 Personal account should be sufficient. Do you get this prompt at any time during this Add Account process?

If so, be sure to select Personal. The other thing to do is open a support ticket by clicking the Support Icon. A pane will open on the right where you can send them the info you posted.

You'll get a ticket number, please post it here once you get it; the support folks I've reported this issue to would like to track it from their side as well. Thanks!!

The toggle to Outlook Classic is now under Help:

Please have a look at these two pages:

You can't open classic Outlook on a new Windows PC - Microsoft Support

Use Classic Outlook, not New Outlook

Update: I just d/l new MS 365 installation to migrate to a new computer. MS makes every step a challenge and time consuming to migrate data files. A big obstacle is that there is no longer any key to change view to old Outlook, and the installation defaults to New Outlook There is a video on YouTube to explain how to change default view from New to Old Outlook. It takes some computer savvy to follow the recommendation so it's not that easy. When the New Outlook is most certainly not ready for mainstream, why does MS now make it default?

I have a Home personal account.

I realize that I had all of my emails so that is resolved but I still have the issue of Outlook asking for a subscription.

I go into setup - gear in upper right corner of outlook

Click on Files - this is where is see the message that Outlook requires a 365 subscription.

I press the Add subscription button and outlook jumps to the Your Accounts Page

I press the add subscriptions button

Enter my email for MS login and then get the message "can't access account"

I then click on sign-in options to sign in a different way and try to sign in with my pin for my computer. This is when I get the message that I cannot use a personal account.

I don't think that it matters but I would still like to know why outlook doesn't know that I have a subscription.

    Thanks
