I've switched to the new version of Outlook but autocorrect isn't on and I can't work out how to turn it on. There is no 'file' option in the new version of Outlook which is where it used to be in previous versions.

This is another poor design decision by Microsoft. Did anyone at Microsoft actually take the time to understand what features are widely used and why? I need autocorrect to include non-English characters in specific names as I type them. Not only did you take that capability away, you also removed the "insert symbols" button I would use as a backup to manually make these corrections. Also who is the genius that thought after 40 years of training people to right click for spell check, we will suddenly switch it to a left click in only a SINGLE app within the Microsoft Office Suite. Seriously!!!!

I would like to add my astonishment to the fact that this issue has been going since February, and it makes the new Outlook practically useless. I can see from the replies in this community that the replies I got recently to similar queries about auto-correction and auto capitalisation (when they are switched on) similarly failed to deal with the issue. No practical advice is offered by the moderators, and their replies are so slow that they are able "to presume the issue is resolved" because you've given up waiting.

Totally agree with you and all other comments here. This seems like a step back from the old version and is extremely irritating. Hoping Microsoft pull their finger out and get this feature added back in!

Exactly - why did they even MESS with this? I have a decades long habit of not capitalizing "I" in emails and chat, and it always autocorrected immediately. No one seemed to be complaining about it before, why was it mucked with!
