How to alter future meetings without changing the past events in a series of repeated meetings?

Example:

  1. I have a meeting set up to repeat every Monday at 9 AM from 1st January 2023.
  2. Assume today is the 1st of November, and I want to move all the recurring meetings to Tuesday.
  3. Outlook allows me to change the current event or all the events in the series.
  4. Single-event change is OK.
  5. But if I have to change all future events, I have to select "Edit" >> "All events in the Series."
  6. This option not only changes future but all the past events as well.

How can I ensure that only future events are updated (to Tuesday 9 AM) and I still have the entries of all past events in the calendar (as Monday 9 AM).

Update: I'd like you to know that this is now fixed.

If you open a recurring event and then click the edit button at the bottom left corner of the event window, it allows you to edit "This and all following events" ****

    Thanks! Using the Web version did the trick, but hopefully it will soon be incorporated in the desktop version soon.

    Hello, when taking the steps suggested, the actual meeting occurrence is updated on my calendar when I press "send update" but doesn't update on the calendars of the invitees. It sends an updated invitation with the former information. What can I do to change information for a single occurrence?

    STILL HAVE THIS PROBLEM - it's a loss of functionality. The past is wiped out when you change the future!

    @Laura Keck use following workaround to avoid wiping the past:

    1. go to your calendar via Outlook Web Access
    2. right-click a meeting series that you want to alter it's future occurrences
    3. select cancel this and all following events

    This should preserve all events in the past and you can create a new meeting series from now on

    Unfortunately, it doesn't actually show the change I made when I sent the update to invitees. Only I can see the changes made. Hoping someone has found a solution.
