How to alter future meetings without changing the past events in a series of repeated meetings?

I tried to do this in the App But didn’t see an “Edit” option but it was available (and completed using the steps below) using the online platform

Thank you for your reply.

In the outlook calendar, when I double-click and open the event, it gives me two options as

1. This event
2. All events in the series

I do not see any option as "Edit" >> "Open Occurrence"

And besides, the steps 2-6 repeats is what I want to avoid. A single change that should apply to all future events and not the past events.

I agree with what others in this thread have said about the inconvenience of not being able to change future occurrences without that moving past meetings, as well as not wanting to edit each meeting occurrence individually. This seems like a significant oversight in the software.

Another thing I will add to this, because I just went to change the end date of a recurring meeting to reschedule a new one at a different time (in order to preserve past occurrences), is that I received the following notice: "If you changed specific appointments in the series, your changes will be cancelled and those appointments will match the series again".

I had rescheduled a singular previous meeting's time, and now the work-around of changing the end date the original meeting & rescheduling with the changed time is also not an option if I need to preserve past meetings in my calendar. I guess I get to annoy my superiors with a dozen emails changing the times individually.

Please fix this, it makes users look unprofessional & is just an unnecessary headache.

Yep. This is extremely annoying. Microsoft co-pilot repeating at me that it's not an issue is also extremely annoying.

The only solution is manually changing all appts individually.

Anything that occurred in the past should not be edited/editable after the event/meeting has occurred. . It's a record of the past.

Screenshot from Outlook where I right clicked on my meeting & have these 3 options. This is only available in the New Outlook - not in Classic. When I right click on a meeting - the option to Edit comes up & I can select one of the three options.

I believe this is only in the Teams calendar what you are describing. The Outlook Calendar does not show this possibility.

It is working for me & changes were made to everyone's calendar. Only in NEW Outlook though & you have to be careful to ensure you do this & the following and click send so it goes to all
