Can we move the toolbar back to bottom of left-side pane?

So, my outlook at work updated and now the toolbar for mail, calendar, groups, etc is on the left-hand side, rather than icons at the bottom of the navigation pane.

Is there a way to choose to have it back at the bottom as the left-hand side looks awful?

Hi Bee Frasier,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft community, I’m happy to assist you on this inquiry.

As per your description your Navigation bar was relocated after an outlook update and you're trying to relocate it to the bottom . Please correct me if I'm wrong.

To my understanding you're not using the new Outlook , I have done some research on your inquiry and concluded that Navigation bar location can be adjusted to the bottom by applying the following steps:

  1. Open the Outlook desktop app.
  2. Click File, then Options.
  3. In the window that opens, select Advanced.
  4. Under the Outlook Panes section, uncheck the box that says "Show apps in Outlook."
  5. Restart Outlook and your navigation bar would be relocated at the bottom

    I have the same issue with the NEW Outlook and there is no FILE/OPTIONS to change it back.

    Apparently a LOT of people are having this issue.

    Please address this.

    What if there is no option called "Show apps in Outlook"? I see File, Options, Advanced, Outlook Panes - but no "Show apps in Outlook".

    I have the same issue, this new version of Outlook sucks big time, I can't even open my old PST files with it, years and years of archived emails that I can no longer search. I've had to set up a second laptop with an older version of outlook on, because if I change the toggle to switch back to "old outlook" it dumps back into the terrible Windows Mail client, which isn't old outlook at all.

    Honestly, along with the new teams update, which doesn't let you pop out a chat window when you're in a meeting, Microsoft has made a terrible job of updating these apps. They were fine before, why update them? No wonder my productivity is in the toilet right now, I can't get half of the things done that I used to do!
