Can we move the toolbar back to bottom of left-side pane?

So, my outlook at work updated and now the toolbar for mail, calendar, groups, etc is on the left-hand side, rather than icons at the bottom of the navigation pane.

Is there a way to choose to have it back at the bottom as the left-hand side looks awful?

Hi Bee Frasier,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft community, I’m happy to assist you on this inquiry.

As per your description your Navigation bar was relocated after an outlook update and you're trying to relocate it to the bottom . Please correct me if I'm wrong.

To my understanding you're not using the new Outlook , I have done some research on your inquiry and concluded that Navigation bar location can be adjusted to the bottom by applying the following steps:

  1. Open the Outlook desktop app.
  2. Click File, then Options.
  3. In the window that opens, select Advanced.
  4. Under the Outlook Panes section, uncheck the box that says "Show apps in Outlook."
  5. Restart Outlook and your navigation bar would be relocated at the bottom

    There isn't a "Show apps in Outlook" option in my version of classic Outlook that I use on my personal laptop.

    Actually, I didn't do anything to have it suddenly and abruptly move to the bottom vis-a-vis the old way (disturbing behavior). Now my company insists that all employees use the vertical version in classic Outlook. That makes my personal version "out of compliance" and Is very confusing.

    I'm different than all these people -- how do I make it vertical again? Or did I hose up Outlook in some way that I didn't intend and didn't know about?

    Have tried unticking the box and still it is stuck to the left! Who would've guessed moving a bar back to where it use to suit would be so hard :)

    I was pressing something to adjust my volume and then the navigation went from bottom to left. How do I move the navigation bar back to the bottom?
