Forced to use New Outlook wiped my entire calendar, can I get it back? Can the tray icon clock calendar be connected to New Outlook?

Microsoft seems to be working to destroy itself and its customers.

The new outlook destroyed my calendar, contacts and communications. The advice you’ve given will not work in my situation. I do appreciate your efforts, though.

Onedrive removed ALL my documents, photos, music, videos, from my laptop. I’m in the process of restoring them and will definitely discontinue Onedrive when I get my files back in my possession.

Microsoft’s latest “update” has crippled Airlines, Hospitals, Healthcare Records, 911 calls, Banks, Financial Institutions, Media and Broadcasting!

UPDATE: I reached out to the Microsoft team again today to seek an update around when IMAP functionality might become available in new Outlook and was advised it has been deployed, however there is a catch. IMAP can only be used to synchronise email accounts in new Outlook, it does not work with the Calendar or Contacts functions. To synchronise Calendar and Contact data across devices in new Outlook you much have a Microsoft Exchange (outlook.com) native account or corporate google space account.

If like me you accessed old Calendar using an IMAP account, Gmail or Microsoft account etc. calendar entries will still not synchronise with new Outlook, and the impression I get is there are no plans to add it at this stage as Microsoft want to keep thing in house at it were. The suggested solution put forward by Microsoft is to create an exchange (outlook.com) email account and add this to new Outlook, this account will synchronise Calendar and Contacts data across devices however you will need to migrate Calendar and Contact data from your old email account (that used in conjunction with the old Calendar and Contact apps).

If your Calendar and Contact entries are linked to your Microsoft Account (used to log into windows), there is a solution that will allow this data to synch with new Outlook. To take advantage of this option,

1. Visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/add-or-remove-an-email-alias-in-outlook-com-459b1989-356d-40fa-a689-8f285b13f1f2
2. Scroll down to 'Add an Email address', execute the 'Add an existing email address as an alias' option.
3. Add an alias email address with the outlook.com domain i.e. ******@outlook.com
4. Add this account in the new Outlook app (the password will be the same as your Microsoft Account)

Note: It may take some time for the new alias to replicate through the Microsoft system.

I had the exact experience! Everything regarding to all my outlook email folders & communications, all my contacts, and my calendar were wiped clean. I can’t believe Microsoft has done this to years-long patrons!

Nothing transferred over to the New Outlook. Absolutely empty!

Fortunately, Onedrive had all my data. My good “tech friend “ found everything for me and it’s been restored to my old outlook. But, nothing syncs, so my calendar is worthless and I haven’t had a new email come in since I hit the TRY button.

I’m back to using my iPhone calendar and our wall calendar for appointments.

I’ve transferred all my contacts and group contacts to google. Have always used Gmail. It’s taken me several weeks to try to make something work for me..

I no longer have folders to store important email files and communications. Sometime soon, I’ll begin printing them out and starting paper folders in the filing cabinet again.

Microsoft is very CRUEL!

If anyone has better ideas than mine, I’ll appreciate your sharing them.

I will attempt the suggestions you've provided, but I'd like you to report that I am extremely **ssed-off that MS just decided to replace a long-time and trusty tool (Outlook Calendar) with new Outlook without providing for my extensively-populated Outlook Calendar to be ported over to New Outlook. Luckily I was home and near the phone when my Doctor called for as previously-scheduled phone appt that I had completely forgotten about because I cannot access my posted calendar. What an oversite and disservice to MS; long-term customers.

I was facing the same issue.

But you can recover all the old calendar entries by following the below steps:

1. Open the New Outlook.
2. In the outlook, go to the Calendar.
3. Go to Help tab, given above the Calendar Format section.
4. Click Go to Classic Outlook.
5. It will show a dialog box, you may click Okay.
6. After everything gets closed automatically, again open the Old Calendar. And you may get back your old data.
