Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

What is frustrating is that it works fine when you sort and type the first letter of the name and it jumps to that person you are looking for. Why won't it work with the inbox!

Microsoft you need to fix this, put the ability back, what ever term you need. Normal users "do not" know nor should they "NEED to know" and understand a complex Search String to use Email. If MS starts making Outlook function more like Gmail why should we stay in the MS Office world?

The removal of this feature makes me think that people at Microsoft do not use their product. You cannot tell me they have not sorted by name then started typing the name to find all emails from that person. This is used by literally everyone who uses Outlook daily. This should have been discovered before releasing the "new" outlook. The fact this has been posted so long ago and not corrected is annoying.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS so very frustrating not to have this feature that I use every day multiple times a day based on muscle memory. This is not people clinging to some old outdated way of doing things. This will be a reason I will refuse to migrate to the new and not use all the other things that are improvements because this one thing throws so many roadblocks into my daily functions. Please fix.
