Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

Please do. This is a MAJOR rollback of functionality as far as I am concerned. Just dropped the new version (after telling why) - hope somebody re-implements this. Easy is better.

I have dropped the new version as well. This functionality is imperative for me. I work in an international company with a lot of names I'm not familiar with spelling. I often have to sort by letter because I would not be able to remember how to spell the name in the search bar.

This is a deal breaker for me. Super disappointed that Microsoft missed this feature.
