I just tried the NEW outlook.
I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.
The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.
Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

This is a problem for us too. We're not switching to the new Outlook.
We're seriously considering switching across to Google Workspace. It's issues like these that just frustrate our users endlessly. A key feature, literally used daily, and it's simply dropped from the new client. And not only that, despite repeated requests for its inclusion, this is ignored for over a year. Microsft, stop being product led and start trying to be more customer led please! People don't necessarily want new features, they just want the existing ones to work well.
I'm reading this thread with exactly the same issue, a year later and it still has not been addressed? Or has it and I missed the solution>
No, there is no solution, neither somebody from Microsoft is currently considering it.
I saw it was added as requested feature, I voted for it. If you look in this thread I think there is the link for it.
