Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

Over a year old and no response or fix to this issue? Outlook is unusable for me without this feature, too much of a productivity hit. I'll stick with Outlook 2016 until its resolved.

Yes, this does the trick, but in this instance you have to write a full line of code, where originally three key strokes would do. That's a big step back for me.
