Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

Outlook | Windows | Classic Outlook for Windows | For home

Test it out. For me, it's finding all messages and is honestly quicker than resorting and typing letter surprisingly.

Unfortunately, I am now having another issue where sometimes my sent items take minutes to show up in sent items (show immediately on web). Also, two days in a row now one of my folders reports an Unread item but when I go to folder nothing is there. If I filter by unreads, it shows up but isn't there when I turn off filter.

I was so close to not having to revert...

So annoying when I sort a folder by "From" and instead of typing W in the top area to jump to the Williams, I now have to scroll for 5 minutes to get to the W's. OMG. None of these workarounds have helped for the new Outlook on a Mac. It's amazing how muscle memory really kicks in and can stall you from doing fast work and fast searches. Very frustrating!

In Outlook 365, if you right click on someone's name, there is no choice of "advanced options." There is "advanced actions" and that offers to assign policy or create task.

The fact that after all this time this still hasn't been added as a feature is quite disappointing. This is the main reason I still keep going back to classic Outlook. I use this feature constantly. Everyone at work comes to IT for help with it and is blown away when we tell them that feature went away.
