Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

Ty but i don't see 'other settings' when i click on 'view settings'

i don't have that option when i right click on any of the headers. It only give me >Sort ascending, >Sort descending and >Change the view.

None of those bring me to an option menu

You also can get there by:
- Clicking on "View" in the top navigation (top of ribbon).
- On the left side, click "View Settings." You can then do the remaining steps:
- Click on "other settings."
- Under "Other options" make sure to check "Use compact layout in widths smaller than."

They sure are. Mine's a trimmed down version of what I used at work for years. I used "jump to a name" feature many times every day - saves a lot of faffing about which is now what I spend my day doing with this new version. Sigh....

OK. Sorry about that. I am using my work Outlook. I didn't realize they were different.
