Outlook sort by name, but can't jump to name

I just tried the NEW outlook.

I can sort by names A-Z, but then I have to scroll to find the person.

The old outlook, I could just type the first letter and it would jump to that name.

Is there a setting in the new outlook that allows you to jump to the letter when typed?

Quite annoying. To me this is a deal breaker - switching back to the old outlook for now.

After all this time, I was able to go back to my desktop version of Outlook (still had my old account there but it was no longer active since my termination) and was able to add my new outlook.com email account so it's working for me the way it used to. This it what it looks like if you're trying to do that.

My work submitted a ticket to microsoft and they have not been able to fix the issue. I am the only one at work with that issue, everyone else is able to sort and find e-mails by typing the first letter of the name. The ticket has now been escalated, but still no fix and it's been over 6e months that Microsoft is didly dadling and can't resolve the issue. I am able to sort and find name by typing the first letter in all of the other folders ie. sent folder, deleted folder or any folder except for the inbox!

I don't have that issue with my personal computer!

I hope they find the issue, but by the time they do, I will have retired! No pun intended, it's a fact! June 28th! But I hope they find an issue for all of you.

Came here to say the same thing. I noticed this feature missing within 2 minutes of converting to the NEW Outlook; came here to find the workaround. Sorely disappointed to see that customers have been complaining about this for over a year already and still no solution. My company forced the upgrade, so I don't even have the option to revert back.

According to your description, I will share some information with you, currently new Outlook for Windows experience is developing by our related product developer team. Therefore, you may need to use Support option via selecting Help menu under the new Outlook for Windows, this way, you may need to contact our app support team to submit your this situation directly to our product developer team. They can further investigate few things based on your submitted information. They can also develop some convenient options in new Outlook for Windows in future based on users' valuable suggestion and ideas. Our product developer team also need some suggestion from users side to improve new Outlook experience. Your feedback is very important for them.

We reverted back and now I have a new PC and I do not want to even activate the New Outlook on it for fear that Microsoft will stop allowing it to revert back. Has anyone submitted this issue via that process? If not everyone that can needs to.
