Disable auto-delete of accepted meeting invites in the *new" Outlook?

The existing Outlook app for Windows has a setting to prevent calendar invites from being automatically sent to Deleted Items* when you accept them. Is this setting available in New Outlook?

Microsoft just announced that starting in 2024, the new Outlook will be the "official" one. I'm really concerned that features like this may be ignored when trying to reach feature parity. So, Is there an official feature request page for this? They exist for other Microsoft products I use, but I didn't find one dedicated to the New Outlook.

*Deleted Items is the wrong choice even if I wanted this! Archive would be the smarter location for a modern email didn't. (But the best thing would be too simply not do actions the user didn't request!) Thanks again.

    Admission that this is a mistake in 2023- it's now September 2024 and still Outlook inexplicably deletes my invite emails (including the link!) when I accept!

    That's deleting the emails I want most! What brainless developer thought of this idea? Is it supposed to be that we all use the calendar so religiously that in their infinite wisdom, Microsoft devs have decided that we don't need to keep certain emails?

    How about I write the rules by which Satya Nadella will manage his email? No? Surprise!

    One of the first replies had it right - "Or, Microsoft could stop making it do things I haven't requested."

    That pretty much says it all.

    It's not a feature, it's a bug. Now get to work and fix it.

    A solution for in the new outlook:

    Create an email-rule in outlook that copies all emails that contain an invite or a mention of a meeting to a folder called 'Meeting Invitations' (or smt else).

    (I made a couple similar rules for redundancy, but I think this is the one that makes it work.)

    NB: it can take a while before it works, I thought this failed but then the next day everything was nicely sorted according to these rules.

    Sorry but I don't see how this works. I can have a rule for messages which have attachments. But not for messages which have attachments ending in .ics. There is no option I can see which lets me base a rule on this.

    Hi,

    To clarify: in the outlook web version, you cannot use a rule like 'the attachment ends in .ics'. Other email services might (my macOS Mail application does for example), but for the outlook web version you need to use Type > invitation response settings exactly like in the image provided.
