The existing Outlook app for Windows has a setting to prevent calendar invites from being automatically sent to Deleted Items* when you accept them. Is this setting available in New Outlook?
Microsoft just announced that starting in 2024, the new Outlook will be the "official" one. I'm really concerned that features like this may be ignored when trying to reach feature parity. So, Is there an official feature request page for this? They exist for other Microsoft products I use, but I didn't find one dedicated to the New Outlook.

I think I found an easy workaround! (At least it worked for me just now, I haven't tried to repeat it yet) If you respond to the meeting invite on the calendar instead of from your inbox, it doesn't automatically go to trash! Still a weird "feature" but it's better than creating a custom rule

Why tf does it not occur to microsoft THAT MEETING INVITES MIGHT CONTAIN INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE MEETING THAT I MIGHT WANT TO REVIEW AFTER ACCEPTING, WHY DO YOU ALL SUCK SO HARD?!?!
That means users have started to find alternatives as Microsoft is not able to provide a fix for this problem.
It's shameful to Microsoft that there is no solution so far within last 2 years, in spite of so many users having a problem and reported to Microsoft.
Similar to this, I tested out a rule that copies invites received into an inbox subfolder folder and marks them as read. See rule settings screenshot below. For those who new to rules, in the new Outlook it is under Settings (gear symbol) > Mail > Rules.
Took me a while to select the folder that I created to house the copies, as the list of available destination folders didn't match what I saw in my left-hand folder list under Inbox, but it was there when I searched for it. So, now I have a copy of all invites received independent of main inbox and trash, if I ever need to go back and check one.
You could make a rule that copies it back into the inbox and marks it as read, so when you accept the original, the read copy is all that's left. But I feel like I wouldn't like seeing double invites in my inbox, and I actually have to scroll less when looking for old invites if they are archived in their own folder.
Thanks to @Daily_MS_User for the above workaround which gave me this idea. This issue is pretty much solved for me now.
