After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated. I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere. The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people. It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

This is Microsoft being Microsoft. I was criticized earlier in this thread for saying that MS was going to strong arm folks into using this glitzy piece of junk. The only hope is for MS to have a New Coke moment, and admit their mistake, and can the New Outlook. One of my sons-in-law is an IT professional at a large NYC company, and he tells me in meetings with MS IT professionals are telling them the new Outlook is horrible. He said that there is one technical area in which it is superior, but that in every other way it’s a piece of thrash.

I had this new version of outlook for some week. But today i rolled back to the old version. The new outlook is really bad. When try to read/se new mail on this version is no go. I have a second screen were this app lives on in vertical mode. And the old one is just som mutch better. I want to see this mail program live on for use in simplicity as it offers today. I dont need more stuff so it wont work i vertical mode. I just want to read/write mails and see it in full with out new tabs popping up so i can see the mail e.t.c.

"There will be no forcing of anything." Oh yes there is. I just got a message "A newer version of outlook is required to continue". And the new (appalling) version was opened for me. It looks like it was designed with a crayon, honestly "iconic literacy" is all very well for removing some internationalization issue, but this just looks childish. First off it reordered all my folders, back to alphabetical. So it had to go, as there is no way to reorder folders in the new UI. Well that meant... Close New outlook window. Uninstall the New outlook app. Find the old app. Pin it to the taskbar. I fully expect at some point we'll have no choice.

There's the part I really don't understand about this: Microsoft's continued insistence that this is all entirely optional. I guess that can be argued, but only in the sense that one has the option of whether or not to use Outlook in the first place. The truth is, they've changed their interface, we've no choice anymore, and they're betting that we'll get used to it before a better alternative emerges. I'd respect them more if they'd just say that instead of insulting our intelligence.
