After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated. I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere. The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people. It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

Switch to what? Corporate won’t switch away from M365. Most companies lock down app installation to a local admin account or to a user in the elevated admin rights group. You aren’t going to be able to switch to a different email client unless it’s vetted by your InfoSec team and your IT department would still have to install it. So it’s this hot garbage “client” version of Outlook.com, or the web outlook.com, or an installed PWA from your browser of? You guessed it, Outlook.com. It’s coming. We are all going to be stuck with it. And the inability for workers to walk away from it will mean that MS won’t learn anything.

Apple Mail is frankly a better email client than New Outlook. And it’s a native app that has a UI interface that is integrated with the OS. New Outlook is mostly a floating website in a box. Try previewing an attachment or getting a PDF to download and get handled by your default PDF viewer. Doesn’t work right.

Nope. Just a service desk tech who’s dealing with this now and I can see the s*-show it’s going to be. And by the way nothing said was unfair or untrue. If someone here is using these tools as a small business and they are administering their own equipment directly, then they have choice. They can use Excel, Word, Teams, and EM Client, Spark, Thunderbird, etc. for their email needs. But anyone in the corporate space likely understands that they aren’t able to install or remove applications from their devices. The likely understand that they won’t be able to use an alternative. This is IT 101. You don’t let non-IT personnel have admin rights. Not even the CEO where I work can install/uninstall software. If the company moves to the crapshoot that is “New Outlook”, then that’s where everyone is going. So it’s get use to that or get use to Outlook.com We are struggling with the testing of this so called client rollout now. We know it’s coming. No one likes it. No one. I don’t know whose bright idea this was at Microsoft. And peruse the the community forums too, not just Answers at MS. You’ll see an easy 20%-30% of forum posts are folks somewhere in the IT chain and the complaints of this application are abysmal.
