After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated. I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere. The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people. It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

Same here! HATE, HATE, HATE the new outlook. As an advanced user, they have (no offense) dumbed this down. No more File>options You can't use add-ins. I used Grammarly, the paid version, and loved it with Outlook. The editor is ****, and when you misspell a word, you have to right-click on it twice or three times to get the stupid editor to come up; it comes up with the font ribbon! Why can't MS leave things alone or make options for basic users and leave advanced users alone? Now, Grammarly even discontinued its version to work with Outlook and dumbed it down to a Windows version that will not work with the new Outlook. I guess I will get rid of my Outlook and live accounts that I have had for years and go to Gmail or something else. Does anyone have any good suggestions for an email program that will add Outlook accounts that have some options and use Grammarly?

Actually you don’t want to do that. You want to avoid using this POS. It doesn’t matter what name you give this — a program, a web app, or the New Coke — MS is trying to force us to use it. Don’t give in. Force them to admit their mistake and back off, or suffer the consequences. Outlook is not the only game in town.

You have to click the “Gear” icon in the top right. Remember, this isn’t an actual program as you are use to. This is the Outlook online bundled into a floating window. So, you have to stop thinking of this as a native windows application with a menu toolbar and mature control interface. You have to think about it as a limited website.

My new outlook does not have a file tab. There is no send receive button. Nor is there a settings button. There is no "in" feature to lock in the ribbon I want. In the editor feature there is no option to add a word to the dictionary. Are we just supposed to know where you have put these things somehow by magic? I know they are probably there somewhere...but WHERE? So frustrting! I would go through a tutorial but I am leaving for Scotland to facilitate my brother's funeral and I simply don't have the time. You have taken a perfectly good program and made it impossible to intuitively guess what you have done. You have ruined a program that was not functionally obsolete. It's horrible. Why are sender addresses and subject lines different font sizes? To see the subject line like I'd prefer, I have to see the NAME IN JUMBO LETTERS. It's stupid. Microsoft, get a clue. As I said this the New Coke syndrome. If MS goes through with plans to force everyone to switch in 2024, it’ll mean a lot of lost revenue for them. I’ll switch to Postbox, which I’ve used in the past. That’s a company that knows how to do email. — Carl
