After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated. I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere. The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people. It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

This is Microsoft being Microsoft. I was criticized earlier in this thread for saying that MS was going to strong arm folks into using this glitzy piece of junk. The only hope is for MS to have a New Coke moment, and admit their mistake, and can the New Outlook. One of my sons-in-law is an IT professional at a large NYC company, and he tells me in meetings with MS IT professionals are telling them the new Outlook is horrible. He said that there is one technical area in which it is superior, but that in every other way it’s a piece of thrash.

I just clicked on try the new Outlook and I like that I can pin items to the top of the list but I am missing all the basic functionality. There is no File option so I can get to Account Settings top add or remove accounts, there is no Send/Receive, there is no status at the bottom of the screen to show me if I am connected or the status of syncing to my PC. I agree with everyone on this page. Outlook for the PC/MAC is a business app and just adding the Pin feature and leaving everything else alone would have been perfect for me. I have tried to find a way to revert back to the old Outlook so I can get some work done but there is no longer a button to return to the previous look, which I was expecting since it said "try" the new Outlook. If it says "try", I expect there to be a way to say "Nope" and go back. I have searched and searched and all I find in Help is that "it is no longer possible to return to the previous Outlook." Bad on you Microsoft. Maybe talk to business customers before taking away common functionality! The new version looks like a child's web app and has such limited functionality that I will be forced to use the GMAIL app so I can get at least a small part of the functionality I previously took for granted back. Microsoft may be trying to shift the focus to the 5-second-gratification crowd but you are alienating the customers who butter your bread! I had the same problem. But finally I found an answer in one of the forums. Just search for outlook.exe in the Windows search field and run it. It will restart the old Outlook. I had personal folders that totally disappeared with the new version, including a folder with over 45,000 emails in it. Running the old version again showed all the folders, including personal ones, remained intact.

I hate the new outlook and I hate the fact the keep hassling me about it, I said no, that is enough. also if they force me to use it I will just use another genereic app and abandon MS mail altogether. The arrogance of microsoft is rivaled only by apple.

For me, the most agregeous part of this is the advertising they hide as emails, and if you click on it you are sent straight to your search engine of choice. truely the worst part. Totally agree, in testing i saw this and truly balked. **** with the advertising in a premier paid product?!?!
