The new update on OUTLOOK mail, is terrible

After researching how to get it back to how it looked, which was much more in my taste, much easier to navigate, had what I needed and nothing more, - I now see I can't get it back after it was updated.
I think i'm gonna completely disgard of this email, I liked how it looked on PC, it was dark, fast, easy to find things, now it's very complicated with a lot of options and tools i have no use for, and it's bright, with small buttons everywhere.

  • The browser version is alright, so that is what I will be using. I will uninstall outlook completely as a program from my PC, as I do not wish to have this update, and it's more trouble and much more confusing and irritating, than helping and good. It will complicate work and how easy it was before, but that's just how it is, when updates are being forced upon people.

It's a typical thing of big coperations to do this, so it dosen't surprise me, that some people who think they know it all, make something new, to shove down the users throat, instead of being able to choose ourselves.

We Mac users don't want that either.

I also hate the new look. I can't add columns to my Inbox. I like to see the to do date right there along side the email I flagged. Can't change columns anymore to add or remove them. Well goodbye Outlook IMHO. Also, when flagging an email for a follow up you can't choose a specific date anymore. Well that's not helpful if it's in a few weeks.

The ToDo bar is MUCH harder to see and separate out elements that are in the daily view. It is just MUCH harder to look at and not everything is together.

They know very well corporate IT won't allow an exodus, and they know who butters their bread.

I have all the same thoughts as everyone else, along with one other. When I use Outlook web, it will always tell me there are 5 unread emails in my inbox. I cannot find them. I do not know where these emails exist and yet they are always there. HOWEVER, in my Outlook desktop app, all mail items in my Inbox show as read.

Today I switched to new Outlook and lo and behold it shows I have 5 unread emails in my Inbox. I cannot find them in the desktop app. All other folders show all emails read. I find this both frustrating and interesting that now my desktop mail app is acting like the web app. Also, I hate it.

I also reverted back to the old look after trying out the new look.

Couldn't see ****. Everything was too damn small and there were so many unnecessary options on-screen. Looks cluttered AF.

    UPDATE (2023/10/10) :

idk if it's because I upgraded some PC components, the OS (W10 then, W11 now), or actual changes with the app were made, but it looks better than what I was faced with before.
