The new update on OUTLOOK mail, is terrible

Just had the automatic update . I have 5 email addresses and only 1 will work . Tried everything . Just asks for an app password which I get from my microsoft account and it wont sign in to any of the remaining accounts . I use this for work and its crazy how complicated this has become.. And for what reason ????? Off to find another client unless some kind soul can explian how i get this monster to work?

Definitely a piece of junk for productivity. The old desktop Outlook, when you click on the message title, it is selected and you can select multiple messages with CTRL to delete or move etc. In this new Outlook version, the email opens up when you simply click on the message automatically. Not allowing a user to abide by the security rule of Not opening suspicious emails.. that may have come through undetected for Phishing, malware, spam etc.

To select a particular message to action on, you have to check the left box next to the message. Try doing that for a bunch of emails and you end up missing the box and opening up the message instead.. then have to close to select.

When you work with hundreds of emails in your Inbox, this one click on message opening is a POS feature.

I second this (in addition to EVERYTHING else). I'm so used to being able to CTRL + SHIFT to select a range of email messages, skip some messages from being selected selection, and do CTRL + SHIFT again to select another group of messages together (all without unselecting the prior group--if that makes sense!)..

It is time to buy a Mac.

I just clicked on try the new Outlook and I like that I can pin items to the top of the list but I am missing all the basic functionality. There is no File option so I can get to Account Settings top add or remove accounts, there is no Send/Receive, there is no status at the bottom of the screen to show me if I am connected or the status of syncing to my PC. I agree with everyone on this page. Outlook for the PC/MAC is a business app and just adding the Pin feature and leaving everything else alone would have been perfect for me.

I have tried to find a way to revert back to the old Outlook so I can get some work done but there is no longer a button to return to the previous look, which I was expecting since it said "try" the new Outlook. If it says "try", I expect there to be a way to say "Nope" and go back. I have searched and searched and all I find in Help is that "it is no longer possible to return to the previous Outlook." Bad on you Microsoft. Maybe talk to business customers before taking away common functionality!

The new version looks like a child's web app and has such limited functionality that I will be forced to use the GMAIL app so I can get at least a small part of the functionality I previously took for granted back.

Microsoft may be trying to shift the focus to the 5-second-gratification crowd but you are alienating the customers who butter your bread!

I'd have to agree. I'm not sure what it is with software companies but I find their sheer arrogance in terms of what they think is good for us breathtaking. And if they're coming out with a new iteration, what level of idiocy does it take to blind them to the fact that the removal of functionality is not an improvement.

One of the functions I found particularly useful in the old Outlook is the ability to add and remove columns. Now, the only columns available are From, Subject and Received. If it is still possible to add other columns, they've made a grand job of hiding how to do it.
