Hyper links wont open and I get the error message.

looks like its users that are on version 2305
we get the notification below :
if you try the new version of outlook, you get a security pop up
we have a cpl of users not updated and they are ok
and i don't think there is a way to roll back the office install version

Just started for me, getting this on Version 2307 checked some older versions and it's not an issue.
Work around is to send the links from Outlook web.
Hopefully a solution is found quickly.
Seeing the same error, this appears to be across several different versions of Microsoft 365, so I'm suspecting something in the most recent patch Tuesday updates for Windows 10, all reports of the issue started yesterday after users starting rebooting following the patch Tuesday windows updates.
We are seeing this on Builds:
For file URL's which has me specifically suspecting Windows and not a particular office build or update, since these are older stable builds.
I have further traced the issue with users on our side and found that file links with an FDQN (raise the
error)
Those with just a host name raise a security warning first then work.
NOT working (FQDN within link)

Working (Host name only within link)
\filestore\docs\docsample.pdf
file://filestore/docs/docsample.pdf
Also for working links with the Host name only not FQDN the following dialog is raised on a trusted domain that was not raised previously when clicked.

You're right Matt. It's on file path URL's that are having an issue. I suspected that problem was came from recent updates by Windows Update - Security Updates for Microsoft Outlook (KB5002427)
Tried to uninstall the patch and hyperlinks works again. But today the patched (KB5002427) came back and the problem occurred again.
